Slovak International Air Fest air show (SIAF) 2023
SIAF International Aviation Days 2023 offered a varied and diverse program.Sunny weather, the participants was ready and the airport has been filling up since early morning. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Kuchyňa airbase (LZMC), it was once again a celebration of aviation.
On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic, the organizers have prepared for the audience a rich program saturated with land and air action.
Spectators could see 12 foreign participants, 42 pieces of flight equipment. Dynamic demonstrations were also presented by the individual emergency services of the Slovak Republic – the army, police and fire brigade.
There were up to 5 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters at the Kuchyna air base at the same time (1 static, 1 dynamic, 1 reserve for dynamics and 2 flyovers in case). It was also possible to see in a dynamic display the current defenders of Slovak airspace – Hungarian and Czech Grippen. Spectators could see the last public appearance of the Czech Mi-24 helicopter, which is headed for a well-deserved rest after 45 years in active service.
They could also admire the elegant jump of the British elite parachute team Royal Falcons. The demonstration with name Rambo – the fifth special purpose regiment’s demonstrate ground attack on the enemy in cooperation with the UH 60M Black Hawk helicopter. The performance was also performed with pyrotechnics on the wings by the new acrobatic group Viper Sky Box team.

In addition to the opening ceremony, nobility and beauty were brought by the government aircrafts of the squadron of Slovak Government Flying Services
Slovak Air Force
Visitors could see flyovers of Mi-17 and UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, a C-27J Spartan transport aircraft and an L-39 tactical training aircraft, as well as the landing of paratroopers from an C-27J transport aircraft.

The Czech Republic and Poland signed in August 2022 an agreement to protect the airspace of neighbor and fellow NATO member Slovakia as Bratislava ceases use of its old Soviet-made MiG-29 fighter jets at the end of this month. The protection agreement signed on August 27 2022 is scheduled to run until Slovakia receives an order of new F-16s from the United States, expected sometime in 2024.
From 2.9.2023 until the end of the year 2023, as part of a air defense also German fighter jets will support the air defense of Slovakia, within the framework of training flights and alertness. It is noted that two Eurofighter combat aircraft of the German tactical air force 74th squadron, stationed in Upper Bavaria, will remain combat-ready to intercept unidentified or hostile objects in the airspace of Slovakia in the event of an emergency.
As part of SIAF 2023 show did 2 Eurofighter Typhoon EF2000 with reg numbers 31-08 and 30-15 at 13:00 flyover . In addition, training flights over Slovakia and landings at Slovak airfields are scheduled.
